Salalah
A hidden paradise in the Gulf! Experience the beauty of Salalah and take in its majestic wadis and natural settings.
We went to Salalah, the most beautiful city, during the EID holidays. Salalah has a distinct climate and is well-known for its Khareef Season, or rainy season, which typically lasts from late June until late September. Salalah's lushness and beauty were two of the things that most astounded me. I had no idea this was such a stunning nation. I still treasure the time I spent there. When I go back to those days, I truly enjoy how many sites we went there, including the wadis and natural settings. I feel as though there is a "Kerala" in the Gulf Country. Salalah.
Early in the morning, we arrived in Salalah and had breakfast at the Udupi hotel. It's a 100% vegetarian restaurant that's conveniently close to our hotel and offers a wide selection of meals as well as tasty south Indian food. After dinner, our guide drove us to the locations. Along the way, I always prefer this particular fruit over the many others that are available at the roadside stores in Kerala, especially the tender coconut water. Because of the weather, the cuisine, and the coconut palms that line both sides of the road, I find it difficult to believe that I am in a Gulf nation.
Marneef Cave
The Marneef Cave is a massive hard rock formation that resembles a mountain. The gateway itself extends a warm welcome to us with a little message inscribed in the stone by the Ministry of Tourism.
“Take nothing but memories
Leave nothing but
footprints
Enjoy your visit to the Marneef
Cave.”

compliments of the Ministry of Tourism
In addition to the little stores in front of the cave where you can purchase refreshments, there are a few seats where you may rest and take in the scenery. The sea is accessible through steps and a paved walkway that is also walkable for a wheelchair and stroller. A blowhole that is also close to the sea has holes in it from which water erupts, giving the appearance of a water foundation. The family may engage in tiny rock climbing activities in the structure's numerous smaller caves in addition to the blowholes.
Wadi Darbat
Wadi Darbat is a picturesque location for all nature enthusiasts, with gorgeous hills around and a lovely waterfall. It is a striking, lush, green valley with little caves in the neighboring hills that you may trek up. You may have a great time there and it's the ideal location for a little family picnic. The area has remarkable natural beauty. In the valley, there are a lot of little shops and eateries that serve snacks like shawarmas, popcorn, and ice cream.
Souq
The Souq is my preferred location to purchase authentic "Athar" items. The Souq contains everything you may possibly need, including clothing, food, and souvenirs. Additionally, you'll discover completely one-of-a-kind goods that are unavailable elsewhere in the city. No matter what I purchase from stores or malls outside of the Souq, it always seems unique.
Since I visited so many locations in Salalah, I doubt I'll need to update this right away.
